" Intergenerational Engagement for a Sustainable Future"

The third event in our initiative took place on November 9th, 2023, at Loreto College, Cavan, with 88 participants attending from 11:00 AM to 07:00 PM. This event brought together young and senior citizens to promote active participation in the civic and democratic life of the European Union.

The event focused on empowering local communities by raising awareness of EU strategies for a greener economy and supporting sustainable development initiatives. It highlighted the importance of ensuring that all members of the community, regardless of age, have opportunities to contribute to and benefit from these efforts. Guest speaker Michelle Gildernew, TD (MP), attended, providing insights and inspiration on civic engagement and sustainability.

Key topics covered included civic and democratic engagement, the importance of raising voices to public institutions, and fostering intergenerational collaboration. Participants also explored EU strategies for building a greener economy and practical steps for initiating sustainable community initiatives at the local level.
